Always keep identification on your pets at all times
Keep your pets rabies vaccinations up to date, including indoor cats.
Provide yearly veterinarian check ups for prevention and detection of behavioral or physical ailments.
Provide good diet and exercise for mind and body.
Use non-toxic flea/tick preventatives, avoid the use of flea collars.
Provide positive obedience training to prevent future behavior problems.
Use positive reinforcement to correct pet behavior and never hit or hurt your pet.
Never leave pet unattended in a vehicle during any season for any length of time.
Never leave pet unattended wearing a choke collar
Provide shade and available cool, clean water in summer.
Provide proper insulated shelter and available non-frozen water at all times in winter.
Wind Chill Kills! Shelter must be the right size and face South.
Feed extra food to any outdoor animals.
Check and clean paws of salt and ice.
Knock on hood of vehicle in winter BEFORE starting the engine. (A cat or kitten may be hiding there for warmth).
Prepare for disasters with a plan to protect your pet(s) in the event of hurricane, flood or fire.
Plan for your pet’s future in case something happens to you.
Have a heart, be smart and make sure your pet is spayed or neutered.
Always provide love, attention and affection.
