REBUILD THE SHELTER

“ADOPT A ROOM” TO SAVE OUR SHELTER

Our animal shelter is a 53 year old outdated facility, without ventilation, with leaking roofs, no isolation rooms for dogs or cats and we have a need to increase our number of kennels.  You, along with friends and family can join together and “adopt” one of the rooms to help us with this rebuild project and have your names or the name of your beloved pet prominently displayed either on the room or in the lobby.

Warwick Valley Humane Society is the second oldest animal welfare organization in our County and we intake unwanted and lost dogs, cats, rabbits, small pocket pets, birds, fowl, goats, etc. and assist law enforcement in the investigation and prosecution of animal neglect and abuse cases.  We also partner with our County’s domestic abuse organization to immediately intake pets from those situations without cost to the victim any time day or night.

Our staff and volunteers foster kittens including bottle babies, socialize and help train the dogs, and provide attentive and exemplary care for all of the homeless pets that come through our doors.

The new proposed facility will offer free roaming rooms for cats, a nursery for kittens, an exam room for all intakes, 7 new dog kennels, plus 3 cat and 2 dog isolation rooms.  Our staff will finally have a break room, and we will be able to offer “meet and greets” inside the building with a private adoption room.

But, we need your help to reach our financial goal to accomplish this project.  Please consider a donation to our Building fund so one day soon we can offer our shelter “guests” a healthier and more spacious environment while they wait for their forever homes.
