2012 APRIL IS GO ORANGE “COMPASSION FIGHTS CRUELTY”

April 12th, 2012

April is Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month and April 16th has been designated as Display ORANGE throughout our community. Participating businesses and groups will be displaying ORANGE Painted Ribbons on their storefronts as well as wearing ORANGE RIBBONS and BRACELETS * to help the WARWICK VALLEY HUMANE SOCIETY spread the word about this “COMPASSION FIGHTS ANIMAL CRUELTY” campaign.

Animal abuse and neglect crosses all socio, economic and cultural denominations and is a valuable predictor of present and future violent individuals. Animal cruelty includes abandonment on a street or in a public or private place, failure to provide sustenance of food, water, veterinary and grooming care and proper and sanitary shelter and intentional harm.

The Warwick Valley Humane Society is committed to assisting Local, County and State law enforcement agencies in the alleviation, investigation and prosecution of suspected animal abuse and has been involved in cases of starvation, animal hoarding, dog-fighting, imbedded collars, abandonment and failure to provide veterinary care and more.

If you “SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING”. Contact the local authorities or call the Warwick Valley Humane Society’s confidential animal cruelty report line at 845-987-SEEN (7336).
GO Orange for Animals this April. See their suffering, hear their cries, be their voice.
