This membership renewal request is already one month overdue!
Needless to say, the animal shelter is a busy place with over 200 animals in our daily care.
In case you didn’t know, last July, due to unhealthy and extremely unsanitary conditions, we removed 49 rabbits from a Warwick resident. And three days after intake, 49 became 63! Our excellent staff managed to have each one documented, examined by a veterinarian and settled comfortably in clean cages within hours. It is a challenge with the increased workload and supply needs, but I am delighted to say that we only have 15 of those rabbits still without homes.
If I said we needed more room before, we are literally at the breaking point. And, we are in an old building in need of immediate repairs. We are planning to build an intake/isolation building in the near future, followed by a new Adoption Center. We will keep you posted!
The Towns of Warwick and Chester have renewed their respective SNR, low cost spay/neuter, fund with our organization. Spaying and neutering is the only way to reduce the overpopulation of cats in our communities.
A few of our upcoming awareness campaigns and fundraisers include: April is Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month; First Aid & CPR for pets certification course on April 29th; Wine & Whiskers event at Applewood Winery and our Kitten Shower both in June.
If you would like more information about these events, please
On behalf of our homeless animals, I thank you for your member support of our efforts to give each and every “shelter resident” a future in a loving home.
PLEASE SPAY & NEUTER YOUR PETS!
For the animals,
Suzyn Barron, President
